Welcome to the new Noiz platform

Welcome to the new Noiz platform. There are many changes, but in this article we will go through the most important ones, and especially the changes compared to the old platform.

Category changes

Guitars, basses, amplifiers, pedals, and all related accessories have been merged under a single unified category: Guitars & Basses, along with their respective subcategories.

The Recording category has been renamed to Pro Audio and now also includes the PA Equipment subcategory (formerly Live Sound). Under the PA Equipment subcategory you will find listings that relate exclusively to live sound. For example, a console used for live performances is typically not used in a studio. On the other hand, since microphones are used both in studios and live settings, they are all grouped together under Pro Audio → Microphones. In this way, we avoid cases where, for example, microphones appeared in multiple categories.

• A new Services category has been added, which contains exclusively services and not products.

• The Music Lessons & Services category has been split into three categories: Music Schools, Music Teachers, and Studios, all under the Services category.

• The Musicians & Sound Engineers category has been split into Bands Looking for Musicians and Musicians Looking for Collaboration. There is no plan for a separate Sound Engineers category; instead, professional studio listings are covered by the aforementioned Studios category.

• The Books category is now under Vinyl, Cassettes & CDs.

• The Image category has been removed.

The platform now includes many new subcategories, and more can be added if the need arises. If you want to list a product in a category that you believe should exist, you can contact us.

New fields

The most important new fields are Brand and Model. In each of the main categories, thousands of brand → model options have been published (for example, you select Gibson and then Les Paul). If you cannot find a brand or model, you can add a new option. The listing will be reviewed by the administrators within 24 hours and, once approved, will be published.

In addition, there are new fields for the delivery method of the product, which are: Delivery within my country, Europe, Worldwide, or In person (hand to hand).

Note: New fields will be added on a regular basis to the subcategories of the new platform. These changes will be announced on the changes page.

Multilingual support

Noiz is now also available in other languages, such as Bulgarian, German, Italian, Romanian, and Swedish. Our goal is to allow users from abroad to use the platform, something that was already happening—and increasingly so—on the previous platform. International users can list products for sale or contact sellers to make purchases.

Automatic location detection

Your location (approximately) is detected automatically. Upon logging in, the system will ask you whether the detected location is correct (at the city level).

When creating a new listing, you must enter the location where the product you are selling is available, and you can use the automatic detection feature. In your profile settings, you can set a permanent location so you don’t have to enter it for every listing (option “Address from my account” in the listing form).

Images & videos

The image uploading process is now easier. The platform allows you to upload up to 20 or more images.

You can also upload videos in the listing form in order to present the product to potential buyers. The video does not need to be uploaded via YouTube—simply select the file under “Photos & videos.”

Quick login

You can log in to Noiz directly via Facebook, as before, as well as via a Google account. In addition, Apple account login will also be added

Communication with sellers/buyers

Communication for a transaction now takes place exclusively through the Noiz platform. Email addresses and phone numbers will not be published for security reasons.

Communication happens directly through the Messages page and can take place in real time (chat-style).

Improved rating system

Member reviews are now easier to complete. Each member’s rating is clearly displayed on the page of each listing.

Mobile application

Noiz is now available as a mobile/tablet application (PWA). See the related article for installation instructions.
