What will happen to ads that are ACTIVE BUT HAVE BEEN SOLD?

I would like some clarification. Are the ads never taken down? In the past, in order to keep an ad up, you had to renew it every 14 (or 15) days, otherwise it would be taken down. Why has this been abolished? I'm tired of sending messages to ads and getting a "CANCELED" reply because they've been sold. I sent messages to three ads for a bass guitar and one for a multi-effect, and they all told me that they had been sold, AND EVEN NOW, AFTER 3-4 MONTHS, half of them are still ACTIVE. Or I'm still looking for something specific, but I always find it, BUT it's the same as three months ago when I sent it and my friend told me it was sold. In June 2025, I bought an expensive pedalboard for a friend, and it's still ACTIVE! It has become TIRING, because I search and see ads, but I no longer send them because it may have been sold, because I have been seeing it for months. Something needs to be done, in my opinion!
